Built in Sandpoint,
for Sandpoint Families

Gen Tech Apps started with a simple belief: every kid in our community deserves access to real, practical tech education, not just screen time, but skills that will matter for the rest of their lives.

We're a small, local business rooted right here in Sandpoint, Idaho. We're not a franchise. We're not a national curriculum provider. We're your neighbors, and we care deeply about the kids growing up in this community.

GenTech Apps was founded by a Sandpoint local with over 10 years of experience in education, including teaching Dual Credit courses that help students earn real college credit while still in high school. In 2026, he was honored as the Idaho Education Technology Association Educator of the Year for his work bringing meaningful technology education to students.

But this isn’t someone who just moved here to start a business. His family has been part of the Sandpoint community since the 1800s. This town isn’t just where we work, it’s home. That matters to us, and it shows in how we teach and how we invest in local families.

GenTech Apps started with a simple goal: give students access to real, practical tech skills, not just screen time. That means building things, creating things, and learning skills that actually prepare them for the future.

We believe technology is a powerful tool for creativity, problem-solving, and self-expression. Whether students are building their own games, creating websites, or learning how to stay safe online, we’re here to help them grow with confidence.

Our courses are hands-on from the very first session. Students write real code, build real websites, and design real games, not just watch videos or fill in worksheets. The best way to learn technology is to build something with it.

We work especially well with homeschool families and co-ops because we understand how you operate. Flexible scheduling, small group sizes, and curriculum that can adapt to your educational philosophy, including faith-based options for families who want that. And if your child attends public or private school, you're equally welcome here — our summer camps and custom sessions are designed for any schedule.

Our group sessions keep to 5–10 students, so every kid gets real attention. No one falls through the cracks. No one sits in the back and tunes out.

We offer courses in Python programming, web development, Unreal Engine game design, and digital literacy and cybersafety. Every course is designed to finish with a real, shareable project students can be proud of.

Whether your kid wants to build games, learn to code, or just stay safe online, we've got a course for that. And if you're not sure where to start, reach out and we'll help you figure out the right fit.

We Speak Homeschool

Homeschool families and co-ops are at the heart of what we do during the school year — our daytime session times are built around homeschool schedules. We offer flexible booking, group sessions for co-ops, and curriculum that can be adapted to fit your family's worldview, including faith-based integration for families who want that.

If your child attends public or private school, you're absolutely welcome here too. Our summer camps are open to everyone, and we're happy to explore evening or weekend sessions for families who need them. Just reach out and we'll find what works.
